manila fine vinyls is the label project created by edo arengi (shadow sync) back in 2010 to bring out that soulful side of techno we all love. unlike some freaks you can hear around nowadays, the manila fine vinyls productions have their roots in the original detroit sound: no frills, no virtual mockeries, just the full and deep analog sound that goes straight to your heart. music is a matter of substance, not of decorations! this second release includes two brand new tunes produced at the barricade, edos studio located in the heart of berlin. more feelings, with its electric piano chords and the moog bass line, is a well balanced blend of a fat groove and sweet azmospheres. techno with a little touch romanticism! i want to believe, a deeper tune built around a powerful, hypnotising sh-101 line with a delightful slide, is opened by touching string chords and grows as the various percussive elements are added creating a thicker rhythmic texture. its unsophisticated music, its the original spirit of techno.

the word genius is not a term we like to use loosely when speaking about our artists but giorgio sancristoforo aka tobor experiment fits the bill. a gifted musician, soft synth designer, found sound pioneer and he still finds time to make forward thinking disco pop for bearfunk as tobor experiment >disco experience<.
after a well received ep in 2008 we sent giorgio back to the studio with the remit to make an lp so special that it could open new doors for us. well he certainly delivered! opening with the sweet modern disco sounds of >postcards from a nervous breakdown< we then get the first taste of giorgios song writing prowess with >breathe< a rather intense little number.

yellorange must be considered one of the most prolific house music labels in history. founded in 1998 by the legendary tony humphries, the label closed its doors after a short run only in 2003 when strictly rhythm (who handled its distribution) collapsed. in those few years, the label put out nothing but quality music, with many - if not all - of these releases being considered a classic nowadays as you would imagine, there are lots of unreleased mixes to be discovered, and for years the fans have eagerly awaited the return of the label in hope some of these gems would see the light of the day. finally the wait is over and yellorange is back with >yellorange history - the kept it to ourselves mixes<, a collection of previously unreleased mixes by kerri chandler, paul simpson and david harness available on limited coloured vinyl. first come, first served!

we are all very excited about presenting the new catalogue for apparel music limited. we decided to offer our fans an alternative point of view to complete our distribution package. kisk, this time with the help of gennaro mastrantonio, is developing a new concept designed for a bigger dance hall. whereas apparel music covers the daytime, warm-up and after-party side, apparel music limited represents the night in all its different shades. we have chosen francesco gemelli to set our experimental work in motion. francescos classic vocal house music takes us back in time, as if disco music never died and the 90s still had something to say.. the aggressive, uncompromising rhythm of spin my mind melts into the love sounds of she loves the 80s, as if travelling back in time were not enough, as if modern times were in the past and the past was hic et nunc, here and now. ughl revamps the visuals in a deep house version of she loves the 80s, turning it into a very up-to-date track, while gennaro gives spin my mind just the right trajectory for limited edition.

moody melodic synth patterns, stripped back electronic percussion and haunting hypnotic vocals. may i present the latest masterpiece from reuben tobias: portraits ep. a finely balanced deep underground pop release that will no doubt hold the attention of such names as troxler and jamie jones. the structure, complex enough to hold interest but simple enough to maintain elegance, takes you on a journey through the mind of reuben tobias as you listen attentively to every word of the self expressive lyrics. the b side lead, marran, shares very much the similar characteristics as portraits. minus the lyrics, marran uses subtly layered electronic synths and the comforting sound of young children playing outside to suck you down into a place of complete concentration. your focus becomes stuck in fascination for the sounds guiding you through the duration of the track right to the last second. a brilliant ep. not one for the clubs but certainly one for the collection.

you might not be aware of this artist or lp… but thats all about to change. this is the holy grail of cosmic disco… that disco kids dont even know yet. released in 1978 on little known inter global records, this lp is one of the most in demand, expensive & undiscovered albums of this genre. just check discogs! not much is known about the group, where their from or what they went on to do, but that doesnt stop every track on this album being a bonafide killer. arguably the albums highlight is jamaica electric, but unlike most cosmic disco lps where there is just one main track, every outing on this lp is unique and of the highest quality. cosmic, mind bending disco at its finest… sounding so fresh it couldve been made by prins thomas or lindstrom this year.

hrdvsion may not be the first act we were actually checking out for an irr output but we are not irritated that we found it. with i can t exist our canadian friend successfully strikes the balance between deep housyness and accelerated departure. if you turn the piece of plastic around you find a more typical hrdvsion track celebrating the same magical atmosphere. last but definitely not least the b2 is a fusion-remix by ada that insists on being played in the sunshine.

support by richie hawtin, m.a.n.d.y., andreas henneberg, kombinat100 and many more. featuring deep atmospheres and altogether slightly more electronic rhythms, the second part of the catchpenny & cosmos series rounds this double release off by an even greater variety of sound. just like its name implies, the dark tower hotel is a wondrous and mysterious place. upon intricate double bass chords and trippy synthesizer riffs, female singing from times long gone mixes elegantly into the hypnotic arrangement like a melodic leitmotif. in his remix, mollono.bass lives up to the last four letters of his name and delivers a rolling groove. the jaeger gains experience with acid, at least during the second part of this title which distinguishes itself by a minimal character and enigmatic wind instrument sounds. last but not least there is morgiana , a laid-back song that does not aim the dance floor. its catchy gypsy vibe, created by lots of classical instruments, reflects the remarkable compositional talent of be svendsen in a very entertaining way.

ok we can do a long text here... but lets not do that.... fantastic track by recast (aka fluxion)! a blissed-out track that is lush and jazzy! the experience of years of precision crafting dubby tech soundscapes is brought to these tracks, which are grooving house vibes executed in the melodic but quirky manner of isolee or luomo. lorca music is on remix duty here and did a great job with a clattering, skittering groove that is somewhere between 2-step and brokenbeat, the result is heavy and provides a nice alternative to the two recast versions. this is pure techno as we like it... not the banging big room techno, but techno we know from pioneers such as derrick may, carl craig, john beltran, stefan robber and the likes. no shit... this is just one of the most beautiful records we ve heard in a while.

leaving in their wake a trail of mass seduction, the wolf + lamb crew are back from their recent worldwide dj kicks tour, bestowing two of the sonic jewels that lit up those clubs, rooftops and basements. main players gadi mizrahi, soul claps eli goldstein and greg paulus of no regular play, impart the w + l effect with the >lucky paul remixes< courtesy of somethinksounds. while gadi mizrahi & zev eisenberg of wolf + lamb are in no small part responsible for the sexy slo-mo revolution in rnb and disco inltrated house music, they cannot be accused of languishing in the hype of their own movement or direction in sound. instead, the label is backing a seemingly endless stream of talent in north america and beyond, consistently unearthing and nurturing artists that share the same ethos and intrinsic approach to creating timeless music that is not built to rush, and dissipate but drive into your soul and set up home there. here, the new collaborative case in point is berlin resident and new zealand native lucky paul

this is one of those timeless tracks that you still hear played out today. when it was released, orbit 1.3 was played by pretty much every representative of the tech-house sound - it featured on mixes by craig richards & lee burridge, doc martin, dj garth, sean cusick, dj three, and many more besides. not only that, but its appeal spread as far as the progressive fraternity and those of more traditional house sounds. its a deep throbbing epic with a haunting vocal sample and that indescribable >x factor< that makes a classic track.

oliver schleenvoigt is not only the half of the famous duo monoroom, he just knows how to bring the studio flavour directly to the dancefloor. after his smashing kunstflug ep on ostwind, munika is the second solo single of oliver and so chase buch (kling klong / ministry of sound london) didnt hesitate to put his gold fingers on one of these great original tracks. keep pimpin!

in denmark, there rages a lively and experimental techno scene - and its not only a recent phenomenon. the best proof are phono and kemi, two danish imports to the berlin record label, highgrade records. the two chaps complement each other in a musically virtuoso fashion: phono, jacob thiessen, spent his childhood playing around with sequencers and drum machines: over the years he has stuck to this passion and as such, has developed a reputation as an experienced house and techno producer. kim kemi, by contrast, has been a dj since the beginning, and since the 90s has been one of the key figures in the copenhagen club scene. together they have not only performed regularly at the biggest events in denmarks capital, but have also ensured through their many releases, ever changing accents and atmospheres on the turntables. this wealth of combined musical experience can be heard instantly on their latest outing for highgrade – >decompose<. the three tracks, >decompose<, >exterminators< & >last night< assemble rhythms that come from punk, elegant voices and dizzying loops a multi-layered sound excursion. the result is a perfectly produced ep, but one that has not been ironed smooth. with the >made in denmark< seal of quality, phono and kemi bring some extra depth to the party attitude

bodyscrub is one of the most exciting & uprising talents of the growing neapolitan techno scene. with mind blowing releases on labels like phobiq and 1605 he was able to catch our attention, so we are glad to announce his first ep on driving forces recordings. with >hyperactive< and >regular< bodyscrub delivered 2 slamming & modern high quality techno tracks for the peak time. but that’s by far not all!

the partnership between artists john selway and dave turov spans not only across the atlantic, but it has also resulted in a series of successful colla-borations on their label csm. the debut release on the interpull imprint showcases their signature no-nonsense, dance? oriented techno. expanding on their previous work, >choo got it ep< carries with it a modern take of classic in? uences from chicago, detroit, and berlin. this release is marked by just as much stylistic skill as it is by their technical skill: both selway and turov put the highest production values possible into their releases. the a-side of the ep, >choo got it<, grooves hard with an upbeat rhythm and a bouncing bass line that refuses to let up. combining funky house elements and a raw driving techno pace, this is the kind of track that either gets you on the dancefloor doesnt let you off once you hear it go on. the b-side, >way to my heart<, presents a darker take on the ep with plentiful bass and restless energy. it provides a cavernous sound thats happy to shake your techno cathedral of choice

aah, how we have missed them! the fine young gentlemen that are channel x, two of stil vor talents most active producers of meticulously crafted and deeply energetic tech-house smash hits. and just in time for the open-air season they now come back with two very convincing pieces of dancefloor art. first up is >little symphony<, an epic space opera that takes it cues from early 90s techno and mixes it up with post-modern grooves and beats. the wide and open spaces are filled with some very hymnal string patterns that are given a final treatment with a reverbed and high-pitched vocal sample. contrast that with the rather jittery beat and a subbass as deep as the frequencies will go and you got yourself a substantially clear bit of techno that is best imagined when it is dark and only some beams of air tell you where you are. channel x do not produce, they direct and all of the sounds are their actors! on the flip things get more light-hearted and set for the daylight hours as well. >steamboat willie< is a heavily sample-orientated swinging piece of jack. the rhythm guitar lead the way on top of a clap-based loop that sets the basis for some very jazzy interpretations along the way. clarinets, trumpets, percussions, brass, effects and even some talking vocal samples are all allowed to join in this hedonistic big band that is at play. this is one for the sunshine, this is one for the smiles on the faces, this is one to feel instantly good about yourself and everything around you. two very different tracks on this ep, but both equally stand out for themselves

the new leena welcomes a very new guest to the mobilee family - belgian born jona - who having been discovered by get physical in 2005 has since had a series of strong releases on labels such as supplement facts, planet e and resopal. a born musician, jona originally studied the guitar and was heavily influenced by blues and jazz music, until he fell in love with electronic music and graduated from the school of audio engineering. his wealth of musical training has supported his desire to continually explore new sound perspectives and forge is own and unique sound signature, something not so common in the electronic music world of today. >this time< is a three track strong ep that takes brings together a variety of musical themes. whilst >drifting away< and title track >this time< both have grooving bass lines perfect to shake up the dance floor, >resonate< has layers of drifting synths creating more of a dreamy summers day atmosphere. a debut release from an artist we hope to be seeing a lot more of in the future….enjoy

the good the bad the ugly the evil is a full on and brandnew 4 track ep from our cologne artist roland m. dill. roland has worked here with a stronger live-set up resulting in tracks more organic. developing from within rather than being developed, the tracks seem to have a stronger hypnotic edge to them. according to the titels the track all show diffferents characteristic. starting with the evil this track is not very obvious but works very much by itself, whereas the good is a perfect intermezzo for djs who really build up their sets with a lot of skill. the ugly is a mental track... it has stunts, it screams, it sees no end... this is mandness on the highest level and also the bad is written in this veain.
